Acura's next-generation supercar will pace one of the world's most famous hill climbs on June 28.

The Pikes Peak Hill Climb has chosen the 2016 Acura NSX as this year's official pace car. It will lead the way for 140 different entrants up the 12.4-mile, 156-turn course. The next-generation supercar will be joined by three other Acura models making the Pikes Peak run. The Acura ILX and TLX sport sedans will join in along with the previous generation NSX.

Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Acura Division, Mike Accavitti said, "As the pace car, the beast that is NSX will not be fully let of its cage but fan and drivers will still get a first glimpse of the unique character, performance and handling of the NSX in a one-of-a-kind racing environment."

The 2016 Acura NSX is powered by a 75-degree twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 9-speed dual clutch transmission and three motor Sport Hybrid All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. The pace car was specifically prepared for the race by Honda R&D Americas, Inc. and will be driven by Sage Marie, Senior Manager of American Honda Public Relations, a two-time Pikes Peak competitor and road racer.

In a Pikes Peak first, Acura will install 24 cameras along the course to capture the NSX with a 360-degrees series of images of the supercar. Soon after, fans can head over to Acura's social media channels to catch a glimpse of the NSX in action.
